President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said that he was riled by a Cabinet member who claimed ignorance of the alleged irregularities going on at his department.

He said this forced him to fire the secretary during the Cabinet meeting on Monday.

“It’s either you’re taking me for a stupid idiot or you’re lying to your teeth sans the embarrassment or humiliation," Duterte said at the inauguration of the Metro Manila Crisis Monitoring and Management Center of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

"Kaya ako na p— ina. So I said, ‘You're fired.’ I simply said you’re fired,” he added.

Duterte didn't name the official but his remarks came after he fired Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno over an allegedly anomalous firetrucks deal.

“I fired a Cabinet member in a full Cabinet meeting because I did not like his answer because it was a plain lie para niya akong ginagawang gago,” Duterte said.
