Teresita Sy-Coson, daughter of business tycoon Henry Sy and currently the Vice Chairperson of SM Investments Corporation, complemented the efforts of President Rodrigo Duterte in the economy of the Philippines and affirmed that business with China is doing well.
Coson in an interview with MSN, said that the dealings with China is something positive for the economy of the country.
"We're looking at China from the economic point of view and not from the political point of view," she said.
The woman who has various experiences in the business industry, said that a balance with China is beneficial. She also affirmed that the current economic climate under Duterte is conducive for businesses.
"His main message all this time is about stopping the drugs and maintaining peace and order, so that the business community can thrive and also the economy can prosper."
Asked to describe business growth of the Philippines amongst foreign entities she said, "Our economy has been growing at seven percent and perhaps it will maintain from six to seven percent. In spite of all the skepticism,the business community has been growing and I guess we're happy about it."
New York University alumnus Krizette Chu shared the interview video in her Faceboook account and said that the Chinese woman is proof that "the Chinese appreciate Duterte more because pragmatism is one of his strongest suits, and we know how the Chinese are."
"BUT NO WAIT LET'S LISTEN TO WHAT DOOMSAYERS FROM LP and THE NAGMAMARUNONG ARE SAYING. I'm sure the "economists" who don't handle billion dollar businesses know better. Or you know, those people who have 2 units of Economics. LOL.," she added.
