A tough talking Philippine National Police Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa lambasted foreign journalist due to claims that cops allegedly killed drug pushers without due process as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
In an interview with Vice News, Dela Rosa explained that the Duterte administration do not condone extrajudicial killings.
"We are police officials. We do not condone extrajudicial killing," Dela Rosa said.
You don't condone? Because the President said previously that this was something citizen should do that they should go into take justice from sound, said by the reporter.
"You should take the President's words as rhetorics. You don't have to take it word for word," Dela Rosa answered.
When reporter said that police officers kill drug pushers without any trial or due process if they see them in the street, Dela Rosa responded: "We don't kill pushers in the street. Who said that we are killing them?"
On the other hand, he said that drug pushers are killed because they're armed and they fight the police.
The PNP chief also said not to accuse them with the alleged extrajudicial killings because they are policemen/professional not guns for hire.
